Miss Nina started dancing at the tender age of 3, where she attended the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. She continued with Conti’s until the age of 21.
Miss Nina has also trained with Margaret Dixon School of Dancing (Sutton) and the Betty Wivell Academy (Norbury), obtaining grade qualifications within ISTD, RAD & IDTA in classical dance including; Ballet, Tap and Modern, Freestyle, Hip Hop and Street Jazz. Miss Nina qualified as Associate IDTA in 2003 through Shimmi Shake Dance School (Bromley, Kent), where she spent 5 Years teaching Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street Jazz and Hip Hop.
In 2005 Miss Nina spent the Year travelling the world and whilst living in Australia, had the great pleasure of teaching Street Jazz and Hip Hop to the pupils of Bodies in Motion Dance School in Far North Queensland.
On her return to the UK, Nina taught full-time for Shimmi Shake. Her time at Shimmi made her realise that dance was her one big passion in life and gave her the determination to spread her wings and establish Star Dance Academy.
During Nina’s dance career, she has taken part in several performances for Italia Conti, Shimmi Shake and Betty Wivell Academy. Nina has also competed in many semi professional IDTA Freestyle/Disco, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Latin American dance competitions across the UK.
Miss Nina says, “There is nothing quite like getting dressed up in lots of sequins and glitter and really going for it on the dance floor, simply dancing like no one is watching! The competitions were a fantastic childhood experience and I feel they gave me the confidence to succeed in later life
”.
Nina is keen to pass on her experience and enthusiasm for dance to her pupils and parents of Star Dance Academy and is highly motivated to grow SDA to become one of the most sought after dance Schools in the UK.
